В косвенной речи часто используются глаголы: to tell, to say, to add, to notice, to remark, to explain, to inform, to remind, to mention, to confess, to guess, to repeat, etc.
The witcher told Abigail, “You ought to brew your potion.”
The witcher told Abigail that she ought to brew her potion.
to say smth (to smb)
to tell smb smth

“I enjoyed it.” — She says she enjoyed it.
Чаще всего используются следующие глаголы: to tell, to order, to command, to instruct, to advice, to offer, to warn, to remind, to forbid, to allow, to permit, to demand.

- Использовать if / whether (ли) после глаголов ask, inquire, want to know, not know, did not say, tell me и других.
